INKLE / BAND FLOOR LOOM

Inkle/Band looms are designed to weave up to several yards of narrow fabric (bands) such as:

Finer threads can be used to weave ribbons to decorate clothing.

Narrow bands - bookmarks, bracelets, hair bands, shoelaces, glasses strings, and bands for identifying important items like keys, or accessories, even the hanging tapes sewn into towel hems.

Wider bands can be used for bag handles, belts and hat bands, sashes, ties, guitar straps, or dog collars.

Inkle weaving is ideal for beginners as the looms are easy to warp and weave. In addition, the basic mechanics of inkle weaving are easy to understand and readily master.

Our floor model Inkle/band loom has treadles to open the shed making the weaving comfortable and leaves your hands free for weaving. The weaving is done either with the shuttle which comes with the loom, or you can order the band knife and use a quill to hold the weft.
