About Yellow City Fibers

More than a Fiber Shop

Yellow City Fibers grew from a love of making things by hand. What began with Mona Rae's passion for fiber arts and hand-dyeing and Floyd's love of woodworking has grown into a shop filled with yarn, needlepoint, weaving, spinning, sewing, handcrafted tools, and creative possibilities.

Most importantly, it has grown into a community of makers.

Made for Makers

Fiber arts have always been at the heart of Yellow City Fibers. Mona Rae's love of yarn, color, and creating led naturally to hand-dyeing fibers for knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners, and needlepoint artists.

We love helping makers find just the right fiber, color, or tool for their next project—and encouraging someone to try something new.

Papa Jay's Wood Shop

Floyd's love of woodworking and creating things by hand is an important part of Yellow City Fibers. Through Papa Jay's, he creates handcrafted fiber-art tools and accessories designed to be both beautiful and useful.

He also restores treasured spinning and weaving equipment, giving well-loved tools new life. This 1969 Harrisville loom was restored here at Yellow City Fibers in 2025.

Each piece is made with care and meant to be used for years to come.
